		<description>Well, yes, matching the decor is a problem.  But my leg lamp is made from my old prosthesis and it has meaning to me.  I like having it in my little parlor as a sort of explicit acknowledgment that my leg is missing. Most people go to great lengths to to avoid mentioning in conversation even as they are staring the emptiness below my skirt. Having the leg there is sort of like saying &quot;I know that you are totally aware that I have one leg,  Mine cost something like $30,000 for the leg, which I only used for about a month,  and $150 for the lamp parts, mostly the Tiffany-style shade.

My house is very old- a traditional early New England farmhouse with some Shaker influences, but the parlor is uncluttered Victoriana passed down through the family- with one slightly used leg.

Weird? Just someone who breaks the ice and is comfortable with who she is.</description>
